    Quantum physics and classical mechanics are ab initio models because they begin with the introduction of theoretical tools such as the wavefunction (for QM) or the principle of least action (for CM) which are fundamental. I believe classical electromagnetism can be considered ab initio because Maxwell’s equations may also be considered fundamental.
