Quantum physics is called ab initio cause from the very first principle of quantum mechanics and its Schrodinger equation one may solve a many body problem based on this equation that can give further information of the observable behavior of a macroscopic system up to a certain length scale. Classical mechanics serves as well this purpose but lacks accuracy when studying microscopic systems and classical electromagnetism is an ab initio model based on Maxwell’s equations that can explain macroscopic behavior of systems made out of charges.
