A quantum based calculation does not require you to search for a new theory, the schrodinger equation already exists (the theory part), you are merely trying to simulate its results.
Quantum is often seen as a very complex and theoretical field (which it is), but therefore incorrectly assume that everything that has to do with quantum, is automatically a theoretical activity.
