[Damilare]

My name is Damilare.

I am currently taking this course from Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria.

I cannot really say much about the city I am because I got here not quite long ago.

I am a recent industrial chemistry graduate of the University of Ibadan, located in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. My final year thesis was titled “Comparative Study of Raw, Pretreated, and Chitosan-Impregnated Coconut Husk on the Enhanced Adsorption of Rhodamine B Dye.” As you can see, my undergraduate thesis relates to materials science, and this has prompted me to want to further in computational materials chemistry and electrocatalysis.

By the end of the course, I am expecting to be well grounded and structured in the basics of computational materials science and also get to have one or two projects done.

My long-time goal is to become a seasoned researcher and professional in computational materials chemistry and electrocatalysis and get to use it to ease the issue of lack of adequate electricity in my country. I also would like to establish a research hub that creates a well-structured curriculum for my juniors coming up who want to also venture into this field. I strongly believe this course will greatly contribute to me achieving this goal.
