Starting from the many body hamiltonian, you reformulate it into a density problem (which describes the same system as we’ve seen). We apply the Khon-Sham method and change the interaction energy to non interacting particles (planets) in an effective gravitational potential.
In the end I think it’s bad to do this as I expect the ground state to be a collapse of all the planets into the sun.
