The one way forward for humanity in the creation of new materials is computation in silico.
It cannot possibly be understated how important material design will be for humanity to reach the femto scale of engineering, and the amount of fields material design will touch.
Therefore computational material engineering might be the key thing that brings us forward as humanity – and protects us from existential risk such as asteroid collision and self-made disasters.
