Using computers to come up with new compounds and calculating the properties of these compounds seems like a fast and useful tool to improve current technologies. However, these compounds still have to be verified in a lab to make sure that the properties match and that there aren’t any unwanted side effects. It is possible that is the (near) future, computers will be so good at this task that it will predict the properties with extreme precision.
