“Why do we call quantum physics an ab initio model? Why do we call classical mechanics an ab initio model?
    – Because it is based on the first principle of Quantum mechanics – the Schrödinger Equation.

Why do we call classical mechanics an ab initio model?
    – Its based on Newton Equation of force- the first principle to classical mechanics.

Is classical electromagnetism an an ab initio model (and if it is one, what are its first principles)?
    – Yes it is. Coulomb forces between charges.
