Currently we do not have the resources (mental nor computational) to apply the fundamentals (Schrödinger equation) because of its complexity for the short amount of time that we have at our disposal.
And yet, the advancement of technology and computational science continues, so all at the end comes back to time and the gradual progress that comes with it.
