The design of new materials from thought (i.e. using computational methods) is a good way of minimizing the cost and the time needed to research a material compound. However, the computational methods often do not coincide perfectly with the experimental observations. Thus, the computational results can be used as an indication of which material compounds should be studied experimentally in more detail.
