    To apply DFT and the Kohn-Sham to the solar system, instead of calculating the immediate gravitational interaction between the planets, you would consider the average mass distribution of the planets. The single-body Hamiltonian would be the kinetic energy operator plus the potential energy of the planet interacting with the sun, plus the potential energy of the planet interacting with the average mass distribution plus a general exchange-correlation potential.
