Hello, my name is Jules. I am taking this course from Stockholm, Sweden, where I am a PhD student at KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
You may want to visit Stockholm if you like visiting cities but love nature as well. In addition to some unique museums, good pastry culture, nice restaurants and bars with game, in Stockholm, there are many hiking routes through the surrounding nature and you are next door to an archipelago consisting of 50,000 islands! Plenty of these can be reached by public transport. Pro-tip if you visit Stockholm and you like coffee: Most cafes offer a free refill if you buy filter coffee (This is not always advertised)
I have a background in aerospace engineering and I am currently investigating the thermal decomposition of hydrocarbon fuels inside rocket engine cooling channels. This process can be catalyzed by high-temperature alloys used in some engine components, which are often based on nickel. By following this course, I hope to learn more theory and tools that can help me explain some of the behaviors that I have observed experimentally. Hopefully, this will help me towards completing my PhD research.
Best of luck to anyone following the course at this time!
