The explanation of the first Hohenberg-Kohn theorem on Wikipedia is more abstract, but leads to the same conclusions. The Wikipedia article also mentions that the external potentials obtained from the ground-state density may differ by a constant, what is to be expected, as the zero point of energy may be chosen arbitrary.
