In the case of the solar system, we can identify the planets as the electrons and the sun as the nuclei. In order to use the Kohn-Sham method we would need to define the quasi-particle in the solar system so that these quasi-particles don’t interact with each other. Then, we are just left with identifying the exchange-correlaction potential. If we get all of this information, we could easily solve the Kohn-Sham equation and get the ground-state density for the solar system.
