so Ab initio way starts with the fundamental laws that governs complex systems. In classical mechanics, an apple falling from a tree is governed by the newtons law. In the quantum mechanics, the schrodinger equation governs things like chemical bonding, atomic structure etc.. Newtons law and Schrodinger equation are the first principles of their respective fields. classical electromagnetism is also an ab initio model with the maxwells equation being the the first principle.
