Quantum physics and classical mechanics are ab initio models because they start from basic concepts and equations (Schrödinger’s equation, Newton’s laws) and enable predictions to be made from them. So is classical electromagnetism as there are fundamental equations and concepts (Maxwell’s equations, Lorentz force law) that form a complete model of that field.
