    I don’t agree with this statement because the first theorem only states that there is a unique density for every external potential, but it does not tell you how to obtain this density. From just the first theorem, there is no guarantee that minimizing the energy will return the ground state density which is why the second theorem is also needed. The second theorem hence adds the variational character of the energy functional.
