    Both fields are doing quite different things. The construction engineer is making a construction which thousands of people will use everyday and as such, you would want the final product to immediately be stable. There isn’t really a lot of room for error here. The material scientist is just experimenting to find a material. There aren’t any stakes involved that are similar to those that apply to the final product of a construction engineer.
