A construction worker has an efficient way to predict the stability of their bridge, by using classical mechanics to simulate the stress on the bridge. For a material scientist, this is much more complex as their mathematical model, quantum physics, is a lot more difficult to simulate correctly. The Schrodinger equation is a lot more difficult to solve than a classical equation to check the stability of a bridge.
