My name is Stephen Wienk and I am a masters student at UGent in Belgium. If you can, you should definitely visit Ghent as it is one of the best looking cities in Belgium. I am taking this course because in my masters I focus mostly on solid state physics and this course seems useful to me to know more about this branch of physics. I hope to learn some new and interesting things in the next 12 weeks and that this course will help me find a job that is closely tied to solid state physics.
