Hi All

I am Taddese, and I am a master’s student from Nigeria, but I am Ethiopian by citizen. In case anyone wants to visit my country, it will be a great deal of adventure for you as we are known for rich cultural heritages, traditions, foods, and lifestyles. Especially, you can visit the rock-hewn churches carved from a single rock in the 13th century.
My interest in this course stems from my academic background. I completed my undergraduate studies in materials science and engineering where I was introduced to computational materials science and solid-state physics which enabled me to have a basic knowledge in the field. Ever since, I always dreamt of solving material problems through DFT calculations and simulations but was not able to do so due to lack of skill. I hope with this current course, I will be able to have a foundational knowledge of DFT and computational materials science and will be able to put it into practical problems. I plan to pursue my study further to the PhD level, and this course will help me in achieving my goals of working in the areas of computational materials science.
