Ab initio way

Quantum physics is an ab initio model because it predicts microscopic properties from first principles by solving the Schrodinger equation. Classical mechanics acts as one macroscopically by computing Newton’s laws (for another formulation of your choice). Similarly, electromagnetism is an ab initio model because all macroscopic electromagnetic behavior is derived from Maxwell’s equations and the Lorentz Force Law.
