Superconducting material attempts

A materials scientist might need hundreds or even thousands of synthesis attempts before successfully developing a room-temperature superconductor. Unlike bridge engineering, the search space for new materials is vast and less predictable, so progress often requires extensive experimental trial and error guided by theory and computation.
