I think computation for materials will be an accelerator for materials discovery but cannot replace experiments. I think it would be useful for computation of materials to give experimenters “good suggestions” on what experiments to run. This is especially useful due to the material and funding constraints. However, in order to better refine computational models, experimental measurements of the generated materials should be used to correct the models, providing feedback that makes them more accurate and precise.
