    Hello,

My name is Philip, and I am a first-year PhD student in condensed matter physics at Grenoble Alpes University. I am employed by two French laboratories based in Grenoble: Spintec (SPINtronique et TEchnologie des Composants) and CROMA (Centre de Radiofréquences, Optique et Micro- nanoélectronique des Alpes).

As part of my thesis work, I am focusing on quantum simulations of magnetic memories based on 2D materials, using density functional theory (DFT) and quantum transport theory. I believe that participating in this online course will provide me with a practical introduction to understanding and working with DFT codes, which will be highly beneficial for my research.

    Hello Philip,
It’s great to connect with a fellow Grenoble resident! If you would like to discussing course-related topics in person at UGA or elsewhere in Grenoble, please let me know. We could meet up to discuss the material and keep each other accountable.
    Best,
    VKP
