In a biblical concept the Jacobs ladder is like the connection between Earth and heaven. Analog to this we can say that the Earth is in this case the LDA for the XC-fiunctional, and heaven is the expression for the divine XC-functional. The ladder itself is then represented by the complexity that is added for each rung. Every time some term is added to the XC-functional, it will have effects on the calculations that come closer to the effects the divine functional would have on the calculations.
