    In classical systems, correlation refers to statistical dependence between particles caused by interactions or thermal motion. In quantum systems, however, additional correlations arise from the wave nature and indistinguishability of particles. For example, the antisymmetry of the electron wavefunction (exchange) and entanglement. These purely quantum effects can create correlations even in noninteracting systems, which have no classical analogue
