Creating materials “from thought” gives us the possibility of experimenting with different compounds before doing a physical experiment, therefore knowing beforehand how the material is likely to perform, which gives us the advantage of discarding materials that are not suitable for our experiment. This is a huge advantage, because we are likely saving time that we may use doing more researching. In addition, and in my opinion a very interesting approach, we can innovate with new materials purely created from imagination (with scientific data backing our creation obviously), materials that cannot be found organically in nature. This leads to new technologies and new solutions to problems we may have now a days. I think is fascinating that we can somehow predict how a material that has never been created before acts.
